More and more couples celebrate together: instead of two separate parties – one joint night out with friends from both sides. How do you make it fun from the start and get two crews, who often meet for the first time, to bond quickly? The easiest way is to put them face to face on the pitch.
A match in inflatable balls is the perfect start to a joint stag and hen party: the groom’s team against the bride’s team, a referee, music and a score that will still be talked about at the wedding.
Why a Couple’s Match Is a Great Idea
- It breaks the ice between the crews – after 15 minutes of playing together, nobody is “a friend from the other side” any more.
- It levels the playing field – inside a ball, strength and speed don’t decide the result. The girls often win through tactics and teamwork.
- It’s competition with a wink – the stakes could be the first dance, a round of drinks or the right to pick the club for the night.
- It’s for everyone – anyone at least 150 cm tall and weighing up to 100 kg can play.
Match Plan: The Groom’s Team vs the Bride’s Team
10–12 people play on the pitch at the same time, so a 5-a-side or 6-a-side format works perfectly. With a bigger group, we run a mini tournament. A sample running order:
- Briefing and warm-up – we show you how to put the ball on and play safely.
- Opening match – classic football: the bride’s team against the groom’s team.
- The couple’s Bubble Sumo – a duel in a circle where the bride and groom find out who really “rules” at home.
- Bubble Bowling – the best man and maid of honour play the pins, and the rest of the team tries to knock them over.
- Last Man Standing – the last one standing picks the first song of the night.
The referee will tailor the games to your group. You’ll find more examples in our post Bumper Ball – lots of game types!

Safety Rules for Everyone
Mixed teams play brilliantly, but keep a few rules in mind: play sober, don’t charge from behind and listen to the referee, who makes sure the collisions stay fun rather than risky. Read more in our post Is Bumper Ball Safe? Height, Weight, Clothing and Rules of Play.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
Are mixed teams a good idea?
Yes – a “her team vs his team” match is a great start, but it’s worth mixing the line-ups in later games. That way both crews get to know each other faster.
How many people can play?
10–12 people at a time on the pitch. With a bigger group we run a mini tournament and rotate the line-ups.
Where can we hold the match?
In a hall or – in summer – on an outdoor pitch or grass. We organise matches in 18 cities, including Kraków, Warsaw, Wrocław, Gdańsk and Poznań.
Where to Start?
- Agree on a date and the number of people from both crews.
- Choose the stakes for the match – the funnier, the better.
- Send the booking form – we’ll take care of the rest.
